GUARDIANS CLUB MEETING REPORT - MAY 8, 2009

The May 8th meeting at Borderlands Comics & Games began on time at 7 p.m. with the following members in attendance. Two new members signed up at this meeting.

Greg Turner
Sean Avera
Joey Caso
Joe Caso
Hector DeJesus
Gabe Dobkin
John Guzman
Emil Palisoc
Robert Kult (New Member)
Angela Cereska (New Member)

We began the meeting discussing the upcoming Rapier convention on June 19-21 at the Clarion Hotel at Jax airport. A club table will be available to advertise the club, raise club funds through the fleamarket event and as a rest stop for members to use for army storage. Snacks and drinks will be at hand for members either free of charge or for minimal cost.

The next topic brought to the table was the upcoming Painting Party for Taylor's Lizardman army scheduled for Saturday May 23rd. I will confirm with Taylor and notify everyone when all the details are worked out.

We then quickly set-up for the "Dragon Hunt" Warhammer Fantasy Battles demon game and started rolling dice. This game was published in the Feb. 2004 White Dwarf as a way to feature the new Bretonian army book. Everyone enjoyed it and received GW prizes but it was Gabe who landed the final blow that finally kill the dragon.

I will be taking this game to Rapier and run it after the 40K tournament on Saturday to introduce new players to Warhammer.

The Dragon Hunt game ended around 8:30 p.m. and the meeting was adjourned.

Next meeting at Sun Coast Comics on Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m.
