WWII German Inspired Space Marines

I have done two test runs on some space marines for a gent in G'ville. He wanted the space marine chapter colors to be inspired by WW II german uniforms. So I have these two tests on blackreach figs. Any comments or questions are welcome.

Man they look great. I think german field grey has a little more blue or green in it.

Thanks. I was researching and found a uniform that was actually (I think) either Nazi M.P or just straight Nazi police unit which were darker (but not SS black) with crimson piping. I liked the contrast; so, it actually more inspired by that than the more traditional infantry grey (which is a little lighter and more blue). The other is obviously inspired by the Afrika Corps.

You should do some Terminators up in SS colors.

Its been quite sometime since I was into WWII history. It was a color drawing of this uniform that was the inspiration for the first model. If this is an SS uniform, then this was the inspiration. I guess I was thinking the SS was Black, but in hindsight I think I might have confused that with the Gestapo. But I may be completely confused at this point. These are a commission paint job, but if he wants me to do any Termies in the future, I was thinking that they should get the black with silver and red highlights. Thanks for the pic.

If you still had your Orks, I'd paint them in the desert camo. Just like the Deutsche Afrika Korps. That way, you can make a really, really bad play on words with "DAKka, DAKka, DAKka!"
