New GW Painting
I finally got some time to wrap-up some painting projects and start some new ones. Here are some pics (BTW the Deathwing termies and dread are for sale for $75 with free shipping).
And first draft from my Space Hulk Termies (not for sale)

Re: New GW Painting
For the Deathwing or Space Hulk?
Deathwing - fine sand, P3 Battlefield Brown, dry brush PS Rucksack Tan, and mix of green and tan static grass (edged in chaos black).
Space Hulk - P3 Coal Black (great color!), dry brush GW Boltgun Metal, P3 Turquoise Ink, and light dry brush of boltgun again.

Re: New GW Painting
One of these days I need you to show me a good way to do basing, I am rather bad at it. Hopefully my painting will improve once I get around to trying a new way of painting that I have read about and finally understand. Now I just need to get my hands on some more paint and of course some black primer. Its rather bothersome that you have to run off and look for it at a hobby shop, since the general spry paint companies have stop selling it

Re: New GW Painting
The best base paints for the money are Walmart brand flat black and flat white (under $2 a can).

Wow duder, awesome paint job. Thinking of, I need to start painting again. Ah well, its on the list. Anyway. Basing is something I need to earn too. Maybe once a few of us have some stuff made up ready to base we can talk Mitch into teaching a basing class or something. I would be more then happy to host. Just a thought. (: But again, awesome lookin models dude.

I'd be happy to do so - however, I warn that there will a strict attendance policy and a cumulative final exam. BTW - I must admit the first hint is that I do the most important part of the basing (the sand) before assembly and priming.

Re: New GW Painting
Really? huh, cool. Maybe we should just all bring newish models instead. And I hate exams, they always drive everything I might know about a topic out of my head. Something about pressure. I dont know. Anyway. I still think it would be fun, so we'll have to see what we can throw together.

Oh alright, no exam. But bring cold hard cash and lots of it. Such ancient secrets are hard to come by.

Oh - Come on. You must be kidding! I do everything for free. (I'm a government employee. I pretend to work and they pretend to pay me.) I live to give away the secrets - so everyone gets a discount. I'll even provide the sand.

Ok, so now that we agree to share the magic secrets, we need to figure out a when and where. Again, if people feel like coming out this way I'd be more then happy to host, but am also open to ideas (:

Re: New GW Painting
This weekend and next are bad for me. So, let's try to get a sense of who wants to do a hobbying party. When's Randy back in town (although it need not include him but we would surely miss his ears)? It might take making some phone calls givin the slower traffic on the forum.

Re: New GW Painting
I know the feeling, but I have to sit back until I finish with gather paints. Then comes the fun of trying out a new painting method along with mixing paints till I get the color blend I want. If the Ret Jacks are what the new WM jacks are going to be like, its going to be good. Just the one light I have is in 13 peices.

Re: New GW Painting
I can kinda understand the issue. I have more projects on my work desk then I know what to do with. And then there is the Mom thing, and that gets the way of everything. Love my babies, but I will be happy when the littlest one needs held less.

Re: New GW Painting
Its not like I don't have the time to get things done, its more on the lines of lacking the mood to do it. I have a good deal of things to do, but as my mood changes so does my urge to get different things done. Yah for metal issuse

Re: New GW Painting
I understand you both, right now is the busy time of the year for me with my work, a wife that needs alot of attention, and a son that is invoved in alot of actives. Makes it hard to be in the mood to paint or find the time to do it.
Here is to retirement and childern moving out on their own!!!!!!! Hopefully, I will still be able to see and my hands wont shake so much that i can not hold a bush anymore.

Here here to that dude. I love my girls, and I will miss the stages they are at, look back with fond memories, but I'll be just as happy to watch them move on to stages that leave me more time for other things.
