Guardians Club Meeting on 4/10

The next meeting of the Guardians Warhammer Gaming Club will be held at War Dogs Game Center on Friday, April 10th from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Please plan to attend. The meeting is only one hour and we will be giving away more GW prizes for a few lucky members. We are always looking for presenters, so if you have a Warhammer topic in mind please share with the rest of the members. Contact me if interested as soon as possible.

Guardians 4/10/09 Meeting Report – by Emip

The April 10th Guardians meeting promptly started at 7 p.m. at War Dogs with the following members in attendance:

We first discussed a club tshirt reorder as we only have mediums and XL sizes left. At least a dozen requests are desired before a new order can be turned in. A poll is now active on the Guardians website.

Next, we discussed the upcoming conventions, Recon being the first to be largely supported by club members. We touched on the flea market table at Rapier and we talked about other ideas to expose the club at the conventions.

Taylor, one of our club members, is quickly amassing a Lizardmen army and she needs help slapping some paint. We have tentatively scheduled a Painting/Pizza party at War Dogs on May 23rd. Volunteers needed.

After the topic discussions, I made a presentation on Army Display Trays. Although not necessary for play they are functional during tournaments as an easy way to transport your army from table to table and as a piece to bring your army together and hopefully score you extra points in the paint judging. Several custom made pieces were available for show.

Finally we gave away some more GW products by featuring the Warhammer 40k rule "Going to Ground". The object was for eight Imperial Guardsmen to survive a Chaos Demolisher Canon, then a Plasma Canon by Going To Ground in the open (6+ save). Although many Guardsmen died in this excercise, 5 members walked away with cool products.

The meeting adjourned prior to 8 p.m. The Broadsword 40K tournament for Saturday 4/11 was announced, and the next meeting set for Friday, May 8th at Sun Coast Comics.
